Yucaipa Kitchen and Bathroom Designs and Remodeling is a residential remodeling company, based in Yucaipa (a city that we love), nestled in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Licensed and Insured. We are a licensed general contractor that is insured. Any contractor you are considering should be both.

1. Licensed. We are licensed with the California State License Board (License #970054) as a general contractor. You should never let anyone work on your house without holding a state license. It is illegal for an unlicensed, handyman-type person to do any home improvements that are worth more than $500, let alone any major remodels. Don’t let an unlicensed “contractor” ruin your biggest investment- your house. California offers easy online lookup, so you can check to make sure the person’s license is current: Check a Contractor’s License. 
2. Insured. Not only do we carry Workers’ Comp Insurance for our employees, we also carry General Liability Insurance. Insurance covers any injuries or property damage. If the contractor isn’t insured and gets hurt at your house, they might try collecting on your home owner’s insurance. You don’t want to risk that.

Membership: We are a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), where Jerry is a Certified Remodeler (CR), and  a Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeler (CKBR).

Our Founder, Jerry Huddleston

Jerry Huddleston has spent over 30 years in the building industry. Every remodeling project we do at Yucaipa Kitchen and Bathroom is done under Jerry’s oversight, so you can rest assured that your home remodel will be handled professionally yet with a personal touch.

1980’s

Jerry was raised in Portland Oregon where he graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School with a major in Building Construction. During the next 10 years Jerry provided concrete, framing, and finish-work services, first as an employee and, later, as a sub-contractor for a number of custom home builders and remodeling contractors. It was during this time that he moved to Redlands, California.

1990’s

In the early 90’s, Jerry’s services transitioned from working with contractors building new homes to building additions and remodeling existing homes. “This is when I discovered my giftedness and past experience could be applied to more challenging work than building new homes. My love for building additions and remodeling was born,” Jerry says. “This was both a rewarding and frustrating three years. I regularly came across homeowners talking about their remodeling project that varied, from those that could be (at best) improved upon to those that were simply a horrible experience.” Out of this Jerry’s passion to open a remodeling company grew. He wanted to provide a design/build service that completed projects with quality work, on-time, on-budget, and especially hassle-free. In 1994 Jerry opened Huddleston Design & Construction (HDC).

2000’s 

In 2006, HDC became Excellence In Remodeling Inc., (EIR) a home addition and remodeling specialist company. We took on both large and small remodels, mainly in the Redlands and Yucaipa area.

2010’s

In 2011 the business changed only slightly, moving back to Yucaipa. Jerry re-opened it as Yucaipa Kitchen & Bathroom Designs & Remodeling (YKB).

The relationships with clients Yucaipa Kitchen and Bathroom wants to develop are ones built upon trust and respect, where clients continue to call upon YKB to fulfill their home addition and remodeling requests. “Sure, we want work”, Jerry says, “but what I want more than a remodeling project is a client for life.”

Jerry still has the same passion that was developed more than two decades ago and currently oversees every project to ensure not only quality work, but also an experience for the client they will be thrilled with.

Some of Jerry’s favorite aspects of life first include, Marisa, his wife of twenty six years; being father to his four children Reese, Leanna, Amanda & Clara; a cup of coffee and thought-provoking conversation with a friend; activities and fitness that include the outdoors.
